Boiler Replacement - The #1 Weil McClain 10-88 steam boiler is in need of replacement at the Jerome F Melvin Administrative Office Building. Bidder will provide labor, materials, equipment and services as required for removal of existing steam boiler, supply and install, and commission a new steam boiler Bid Reference No: 2025-04 The Board of Education reserves the right to reject all bids. Any bid submitted will be binding for forty-five (45) days subsequent to the date of the bid opening. A. Replacement of existing steam boiler: Supply one new HB Smith 28A 9 Section Boiler with graphite gaskets (or equal) along with all the necessary insulation, piping, fittings, accessories and valves. Install 9 cast iron sections with steel and graphite gaskets. After assembly plug off all tapings on boiler, test with water to 30 PSI. Install jacketing. a. Connect steam outlets to existing steam header. b. Connect bottom of Hartford loop to lower port on boiler. Supply and install pressure safety valves and pipe to condensate sump pit. Supply and install blow downs and boiler drains to sump pit. CONTROLS: Bidder is to supply and install all controls as follows Reuse the low water cut off and pump control Install new secondary manual reset low water cut off Reuse high Limit pressuretrol Reuse operating pressuretrol BURNER - Replace Existing Burner with a Webster JB2C-10 burner Honeywell 7800 Series Flame Safeguard Set up burner for proper combustion. Provide baseline data to district once burner is tuned PREPARATION: Bidder supply and Install the following Removal and disposal off site of old steam boiler Removal and disposal off site of all unused piping, breeching, conduit, etc. New boiler to be mounted on existing concrete. Existing concrete shall be leveled and expanded, as necessary, to accommodate a level and plumb installation of new boiler. HEATING PIPING: Bidder supply and Install the following = All necessary piping to tie into existing steam supply and condensate return at full size with new valves.
