Demolition, site work and addition to a clubhouse / community center in Alcoa, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the addition of a 3,365-square-foot clubhouse / community center; for the demolition of a clubhouse / community center; and for site work for a clubhouse / community center.
As of May 30, 2025, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established. SCOPE: The Maryville-Alcoa-Blount County Parks and Recreation Commission (Parks and Rec) is requesting Statements of Qualifications from interested and qualified General Contractors to participate in a select group of Contractors Pre-Qualified to Bid on Improvements to the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center. This 4,350 SF facility was built about 25 years ago. The project includes construction of a 3365 SF addition to the building and the addition of two greenway trail bathrooms. The primary building components include: Construction of a building addition Renovation of Finishes in the existing building New Lighting Installation of Fire Alarm and Suppression Wood Frame Structure with Cement Board Siding Painting of Existing Building New Dimensional Shingle Roof II - CONTENT OF QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Name, address and proper contact person. 2. Number of years in business. 3. Provide examples of projects completed in the last 8 years for building envelope restoration projects which involve: A. Projects in and around active on-going facilities, to include secure facilities. i. Temporary protection of building occupants. ii. Temporary weather protection of existing buildings that successfully prevented water infiltration. B. Successful execution of the work through phasing requirements and through creative work access means. 4. With the examples above include: Project Name, Location, and Description Owner Contact (Name) Owner Telephone Number Owner Email Address Original Contract Amount Final Contract Amount - including all Change Orders Original Contract Schedule (Months) Actual Completion Schedule (Months) 5. Total Annual Construction Volume expressed in dollars for years ending: 2024 2023 2022 6. Description of self-performed work. 7. Experience Modification Rate. A. Include a description of all reportable incidents for 2022, 2023, and 2024.Particularly describe: 1. Falls 2. Electrocutions 3. Struck by Object 4. Hit/Struck by Equipment 8. Evidence of ability to perform work in Tennessee III - NO CONTACT POLICY: Parks and Rec has a no-contact policy on the selection process. The no contact policy is intended to prohibit any potential proposer from engaging in any direct or indirect lobbying of any Board Member, staff member, other persons or organization that may be involved in this RFQ process. MISCELLANEOUS: To the extent permitted by applicable law, Parks and Rec reserves the right to (i) supplement, amend or otherwise modify the terms of this RFQ, (ii) reject any and all Statements of Qualifications, (iii) waive any informality in the RFQ process or parts thereof, (iv) re-solicit Statements of Qualifications, and (v) select more than one proposer as a result of the RFQ. Parks and Rec does not guarantee that a firm will be selected to provide services as a result of the RFQ or that an agreement will be successfully consummated with the selected proposer.
