The Base Bid consists of the installation of approximately 3,200 linear feet of 8-inch to 16-inch sanitary sewer replacement, replacement and reconnection of existing sanitary sewer services, installation of approximately 2,100 linear feet of 6-inch to 12-inch DIP waterline, replacement of existing domestic and fire services, installation of approximately 260 linear feet of 36-inch to 42- inch stormwater, sanitary sewer / stormwater structures, connections to existing piping, valve assemblies, traffic control, approximately 150 LF of 8-inch CIPP installation, miscellaneous surface restoration and all associated appurtenances, as described in the Specifications and shown on the Drawings. The Bid Alternate consists of the installation approximately 230 LF of 8" sanitary sewer as shown in Sanitary Sewer Connection Details Number 2 and 3. The City of Durham requires the Project to be substantially completed within 270 consecutive calendar days, and completed within 300 calendar days from date of Notice to Proceed. No Bid shall be considered or accepted unless at the time of its filing the same shall be accompanied by a deposit of cash or a certified or cashier's check drawn on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid. The check shall be made payable to the City of Durham. Said deposit shall guarantee that the Contract will be entered into by the successful Bidder if the award is made. Such deposit of cash or certified or cashier's check may be held by the City until the successful Bidder has executed and delivered the Contract Documents, including performance and payment bond, to the City of Durham and returned or kept in accordance with North Carolina General Statute 143-129. Bids shall be submitted under a condition of irrevocability, except as required by law, for a period of ninety (90) days after Bid opening. The City of Durham reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids, to waive any and all informalities, and to disregard all nonconforming or conditional Bids or counter Bids, and to accepts the Bid that will be in the best interest of the City of Durham.
