Traffic Signal Improvements Project - 5 Intersections sealed bids will be received for the following Improvement: Traffic Signal Improvements Project - 5 Intersections: Washington Boulevard & Bellwood Avenue Washington Boulevard & Eastern Avenue Washington Boulevard & 25th Avenue 25th Avenue & Oak Street 25th Avenue & St. Charles Road All proposals or bids offered must be accompanied by a bid bond, a certified check, or a cashier's check, made payable to the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Bellwood in the amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the proposal, as a guarantee that if the proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into and the performance of the contract is properly secured. All bidders must provide proof that they are prequalified with the Illinois Department of Transportation to perform at least 50% of the value of the work before being issued bidding documents. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of the proposals without the consent of the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Bellwood for a period of 30 days after the scheduled time of closing bids. The successful bidder will be required to file a performance bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the bid, with sureties to be approved by the President and Board of Trustees, which performance bonds shall be conditioned upon proper and faithful performance by the Contractor of work specified in accordance with the plans and specification therefore, according to the time and terms and conditions of the contract; and also that the bidder and contractor shall properly pay all debts incurred by the Contractor in the execution of the work, including those for labor and materials furnished. The Contractor will be required to furnish sufficient insurance or guaranty of indemnity to the Village of Bellwood, Illinois, the County of Cook, Illinois, and the Engineer against any and all claims which might arise for damages to persons or property due to the negligence of the Contractor or Subcontractors, or their officers, agents, employees or servants, during the construction of said improvement and until the said improvement has been finally accepted as complete by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Bellwood, Illinois. The Contractor and Subcontractor shall comply with all regulations issued pursuant to Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130), the Employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act, and other applicable State and Federal Laws and regulations pertaining to labor standards. The Village of Bellwood reserves the rights to determine the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder, to waive irregularities, and to reject any or all bid proposals.
