Closing Time: 3:00 PM (NT) There is 2 addenda added to this tender Question Acceptance Deadline 2025/02/17 03:00:00 PM NST Hazardous Materials Abatement, Former Female Penitentiary, Stephenville, NL 1 Work of this Contract comprises Hazardous Material Abatement located at 431 Massachusetts Drive, the Former Female Penitentiary in Stephenville, NL. 2 Contractor to complete abatement work as outlined below and in conjunction with the attached building HAZMAT Assessment and project specifications. Asbestos floor tile removal and disposal located in rooms 4,16, 27, 40, and 53 Removal and disposal of all asbestos aircell pipe insulation located in room 3. Asbestos ceiling skim coat removal and disposal in rooms 2, 27, 40, and 61. Lead paint debris, which includes loose paint on the floor and wall peeling paint chips throughout the building in rooms with test results greater than 0.06% per HAZMAT Table 3.0, will be handled in two separate waste streams. Any paint debris noted on HAZMAT Table 3.0 as being between 0.06% and 0.5% will be treated as construction waste for disposal purposes and paint debris noted as greater than 0.5% will required to be tested for leachate prior to disposal. All asbestos pipe elbows to be removed and disposed of in room 2 in accordance with Asbestos Abatement Regulations. Contractor to remove all suspect PCB Light Ballasts and check if PCB containing. Non-PCB containing light ballasts will be considered regular construction waste. Confirmed PCB containing ballasts to be disposed and transported under appropriate environmental requirements through cash allowance. Mercury containing light tubes throughout the building are to be removed, transported and disposed as per OHS and environmental regulations. 3 Provide an appropriate plan for the removal of all hazardous materials identified in compliance with all OH&S requirements and regulatory bodies. Contractor to pay for and carry out necessary inspections and environmental monitoring as required by provincial OHS legislation. The bid bond shall be at least ten percent (10%) of the bid amount (without HST). All bids, regardless of monetary value require a Bid Security of at least ten percent (10%) of the bid amount (without HST), with a minimum security of five hundred dollars ($500.00). A Performance Bond will be required in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the contract price (exclusive of HST). The Performance Security is to be received not later than two (2) weeks after the award of the contract and prior to the formal execution of the agreement. No work is to be undertaken until the Performance Security has been received. Performance Security will not be required for a contract value of less than $25,000. A Labour and Materials Payment Bond will be required in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the contract price (exclusive of HST), The Labour and Materials Payment Bond is to be received not later than two (2) weeks after the award of the contract and prior to the execution of the formal agreement.
