Site work and paving for a civil project in Canton, Ohio. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

The City of Canton intends to contract with engineering firms for construction oversight for the following projects: Harter Heights Waterline Replacement (TAG 642) This project is located along the following streets: o Birchdale Rd NW - Raff Rd NW to Roslyn Ave NW o 4th St NW - Poplar Ave NW to Roslyn Ave NW o Poplar Ave NW - Tuscarawas St (SR 172) to 4th St NW o Aultman Ave NW - Tuscarawas St (SR 172) to 4th St NW o Raff Rd NW - 4th St NW to Dead-end o Montrose Ave NW - 4th St NW to Birchdale Rd NW o Linwood Ave NW - 4th St NW to Birchdale Rd NW o Bellflower Ave NW - 4th St NW to Birchdale Rd NW o Roslyn Ave NW - 4th St NW to Birchdale Rd NW It will involve the replacement of approximately 7,400 LF of 6" waterline and 1,350 LF of 8" waterline, along with the installation of valves, hydrants, and reconnection to the existing water distribution network. Included with the project is new asphalt paving and approximately 7,400 SY of new brick pavers. Construction is estimated to begin March of 2025 with a project duration of approximately 39 weeks. Estimated construction cost is $5,485,000. The professional services needed under this request for qualifications are construction management and inspection. This includes, but is not limited to, inspection of material, ensure construction is according to plan, review/manage project documentation, quality assurance testing, measure/track quantities, prepare/review pay estimates and change orders, and preparing as-built drawings (including GIS data). Please direct all questions regarding this request for qualifications in writing by Monday, February 17, 2025 at 4:00 PM to: Andrew Roth, Director of Purchasing purchasing@cantonohio.gov. The submission must not exceed 25 single-sided, numbered pages that are double-spaced with a 12-point font, including attachments. The cover page will not count towards the total number of pages, but all others will. The qualification package must provide adequate information needed to rank the capability of a firm on each of the preceding categories. The City may short list firms based on any combination of categories noted above. The City reserves the right to require an oral technical presentation to aid in the ranking process. Responding firms will be evaluated and ranked pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Sections 153.65-153.73 based on the above criteria. The City will then commence fee and contract negotiations with the selected firm most qualified to perform the services for the project described above. The final scope of construction oversight services will also be established during these negotiations. The City of Canton reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to accept the proposal deemed most beneficial to the City of Canton. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
