**As of February 6, 2025, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on March 5, 2025.** It is the contractor's responsibility to make sure that their bid is received by the Park District prior to the specified time and date of the Bid Opening. All bids received after the specified time and date shall be returned to the contractor/bidder in conformance with the project specifications. CHANGE TO METHOD OF DEMOLITION ON EXISTING CONCRETE SLAB Since the existing concrete tennis courts are built on a post tension slab (36"x36" grid), saw cutting as shown on sheet L-2.1 shall no longer be utilized to remove existing post, poles, etc. The Park District has hired Penhall Company to scan and image the slab and will provide contractors with in-field surface markings, and relevant information for the existing post tension cabling system. Contractors are now instructed to cut all existing post, poles, etc. below the current slab and patch all holes (32 total) and/or damaged surfaces to form a smooth and continuous playing surface across all areas. After patching make sure the entire surface area of the concrete slab is prepared in a method to best receive a prime coat before final application of court surfacing. For all newly installed items, the construction methods shall remain the same as shown on the plans. If field adjustments of newly installed items cannot be accommodated due to conflicts with the location of the post tension cable grid, surface mounting shall be considered on a case-to-case basis.
