The City of Sault Ste. Marie is requesting bids for the purchase and installation of Automatic Transfer Switches. The Water Treatment Facility currently has two (2) Automatic Transfer Switches to switch to generator power. Switch #1 (ATS 1) is an ASCO 962 1000-amp transfer switch. (Water Treatment Facility) Switch #2 (ATS 2) is an ASCO 962 260-amp transfer switch. (Raw Water Pumphouse) The current switches have been labeled as obsolete due to the lack of parts available to repair. The scope of this bid would be to replace the existing switches with new closed transition switches. However, the respondent can also provide a bid to retrofit the existing switches with newer components and upgrade them to closed transition, if such technology exists. Prints from the original installation are included at the end of this bid packet. All questions shall be submitted on or before Friday, February 14, 2025, at 3:00 PM (local time), and should be addressed to Water Director, Kirk Tews, by email at: ktews@saultcity.com. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive irregularities in bids and to accept any bids which in the opinion of the City Commission may be most advantageous to the City of Sault Ste. Marie and in accordance with the City's "Award Process" and other bidding documents.
