The Complexity Factor for this project is 0. The Consultant who is selected for this project and all Subconsultants the Prime Consultant will be using are scheduled to attend an initial meeting on April 25, 2025, at 10:30 AM at the Region One/District One Office in Schaumburg. Phase III engineering services are required to provide construction engineering for the subject project. Work includes, but is not limited to, replacing the bridge that carriers FAU 1349 (Devon Avenue) over FAI 94 (Edens Expressway) in the City of Chicago and Village of Lincolnwood. The existing structure (SN 016-0834) is a 4 span steel girder bridge with a 7 inch concrete deck overlaid by 1 3/4 inches of Hot-Mix Asphalt and supported by reinforced concrete piers and concrete pile supported abutments. The existing structure will be replaced with a new two span continuous galvanized steel structure (SN 016-0840) supported on closed abutments and a reincorced concrete pier. The Devon Avenue profile will be raised to provide additional clearance for traffic on the Edens Expressway. The exisitng Devon Avenue pavement will be removed and replaced with Hot-Mix Asphalt pavement within the section where the roadway profile is being reconstructed. The new pavement section will also include a 7 foot sidewalk on the south side and a 10 foot shared use path on the north side. The intersection of Devon Avenue and Illinois Route 50 (Cicero Avenue) will be milled and resurfaced with Hot-Mix Asphalt. Drainage improvements will include proposed catch basings, manholes, and storm sewers and all incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the project as shown on the plans and described herein. The project will be constructed under traffic staging.
