Demolition and site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Ennis, Texas. Completed plans call for the demolition of a playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
The City of Ennis plans to construct a premier downtown park on this site. There are currently two buildings, a concrete pad behind one and the remnants of a pool at the site that need to be demoed. The pool will need to be extracted and refilled and compacted in accordance with the attached geotechnical report (there will be buildings placed in this area). Question Deadline February 12, 2025, 5:00pm All questions should be fielded online . General Overview The project includes the demolition and removal of two existing brick buildings (Building 1: 4,214 sq ft, Building 2: 2,475 sq ft), concrete areas, and associated foundations. The scope also encompasses the demolition and removal of the existing swimming pool, excavation of all buried structures, and backfilling of the pool area with suitable materials in accordance with the attached geotechnical report. The remainder of the site must be graded for proper drainage post-demolition. 1. Demolition Services . Buildings: o Demolish and remove two existing brick buildings and their foundations down to 4 feet below existing grade. o Remove the "basement" in building 2 in its entirety o Remove all concrete flatwork and associated piers around and within the building areas. . Concrete and Walkways: o Remove sidewalks running parallel to South McKinney Street. o Remove and dispose of the concrete play pad, parking aprons, and other flatwork. . Swimming Pool: o Excavate and remove the swimming pool structure (~5,500 sqft). o Stockpile suitable soil during excavation for reuse. o Backfill the pool cavity with the stockpiled soil, compacting as required in the geotech report. 2. Site Preparation . Verify that all utilities have been physically disconnected by others before commencing work. . Install temporary fencing around the worksite to ensure public safety during demolition. . Perform erosion control measures, including the installation of silt fences as needed. 3. Debris Management . Load, transport, and dispose of all resultant debris from demolition activities at a licensed facility. . Salvage rights for non-specified items will belong to the contractor. 4. Site Restoration . Grade the site with existing on-site soils to achieve positive drainage and prevent water ponding. . Final stabilization (e.g., vegetation, hardscaping) is excluded and will be managed separately. Exclusions . Asbestos survey and abatement has been completed, proof upon request. . EXISTING PLAYGROUND in SE Corner is not in scope and to remain. . Handling of hazardous materials. . Utility disconnection, rerouting, or capping. . Tree and stump removal or grinding. . Import or export of earth materials unless otherwise specified. . Permits and fees for demolition or other regulatory requirements. . Repairs or modifications to adjacent structures or properties. Timeline . All work must be scheduled and coordinated at least five (5) days in advance. Contractor Responsibilities . Obtain necessary demolition permits. . Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. . Provide payment and performance bonds of total contract amount before the commencement of work!!! . Ensure proper insurance coverage, including general liability, workers' compensation, automotive, and umbrella policies. Owner Responsibilities . Ensure utility disconnections are completed before demolition begins. . Coordinate access and permissions as required.
