The City of Redding wishes to establish a contract with a qualified contractor to provide on-call electrical services at city owned locations throughout the City of Redding. The contractor shall furnish all equipment, material and labor for this contract per the specifications as stated herein. There are currently 53 city-owned facilities throughout the City of Redding, which is approximately 60 square miles in size. These range from personnel-occupied buildings; fire stations; non-profit agency occupied building; pump stations; water wells; waste water treatment plants; water treatment plants; the power plant etc. CONTRACT TERM The term of this contract will be for the period, April 1, 2025 through March 31, 2026. If mutually agreeable, with all prices (with allowed adjustments as noted below), terms, and conditions remaining the same, the contract may be extended on an annual basis for four (4) consecutive one year periods, through March 31, 2030. Prices shall be firm for the initial contract period, through March 31, 2026. Prices fluctuations, if any, for the subsequent contract periods may be adjusted in direct proportion to the percentage change in the All items in West - Size Class B/C, all urban consumers, not seasonally adjusted, as reported by the U.S. Department of Labor, index base period DECEMBER 1996=100, Series ID: CUURN400SA0, as reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor. The base index shall be the December 2024 index (194.384) and price changes shall be based on the latest available first published index compared to this index. Changes in prices will be no more frequent than every 12 months. The City reserves the right to perform electrical work with its own forces at any time, and at any location, without notice to the Contractor. The work to be performed consists of routine electrical building maintenance and repair and/or modifications, and shall include but not be limited to: repairs, replacement, new installation of electrical fixtures, electrical wiring, conduit, breakers, panels, motors, underground services, time clocks, etc. Work shall be performed only on City buildings and/or City property, and only when directed by the Facilities Maintenance Division. The hours noted in the Bid Proposal Form for electrical services are estimates only and are based on historical information. The City may require more or less service hours than noted and shall not be penalized for requiring more or less. Service work may need to be performed after hours and/or on weekends. No individual service/work order should typically exceed $5,000.00 (labor and material combined). The City reserves the right to put out for competitive quote services which are expected to exceed more than $5,000.00. All bids must be submitted on standard bid forms provided by the City of Redding. The bidder shall provide the original (unbound) and one (1) copy of the bid proposal. Fax or electronic submission of bid proposals will not be allowed. The City will award any resulting contract in a manner consistent with the City purchasing ordinance.
