The Sand Shed is a 50'-0"x80'-0" pre engineered metal building used to store sand, this building will have a shed roof contiguous to the mag chloride roof. The existing buildings on site will be demolished by a CDOT demolition contractor. The demolition will start once winter conditions are behind us, anticipated to be complete in April 2025 after which the general contractor will be issued a Notice to Proceed anticipated in May 2025. The entire project is to be completed in 360 calendar days total, however this may be broken into separate mobilizations at the discretion of the general contractor. The general contractor is required to complete the Sand Shed, Magnesium chloride and Fuel Island before November 1, 2025. CDOT will issue a Notice of Partial Substantial Completion after the completion of these items. From November 2025 - April 2026 CDOT will require access to the Sand Shed, MagCl and Fuel Island at all times; limiting site access for the general contractor. CDOT will pause the contract time and ask the general contractor to remobilize in April 2026, unless the general contractor opts to continue working without limiting CDOT access during the winter.
