Site work and renovation of a civil project in Long Beach, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
Sealed bids will be accepted by Los Angeles County Public Works, Project Management Division III, for the removal and replacement of main pumps, pipes, motors, motor control center, lighting system, catwalk, and the performance of other appurtenant work under , Dominguez Pump Station Rehabilitation in the City of Long Beach. The scope of work of this project includes upgrades to the major mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, and other appurtenances of the pump station. The mechanical scope involves replacement of main pumps, motors, and pipes. The electrical scope involves replacement of motor control center, pump station lighting system, as well as other electrical components. The structural scope involves modification of existing sump pump floor openings, replacement of existing catwalk in sump pump and installation of new catwalk around all five pumps in the sump area. Pursuant to State Public Contract Code section 3400, the Board of Supervisors made a finding that the engine controller, central controller, annunciator panel, and hoist floor mount are each designated by specific brand name to match other products in use on a particular public improvement either completed or in the course of completion. The project Plans and Specifications designate the engine controller and the central controller to be manufactured by Murcal, the annunciator panel to be manufactured by Automation Direct, and the hoist floor mount to be manufactured by 3M. The prime contractor shall possess a valid California Class A contractor's license. Question Deadline 03/03/2025 at 5:00 PM PT Prebid questions regarding the Plans and Specifications shall be submitted via email only to: Mr. Haitham Ali at hali@dpw.lacounty.gov. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project (submitted on or after March 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code Section 1771.1 (a)]. No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a public works project (awarded on or after April 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. Each bid must be accompanied by a surety bond payable to County of Los Angeles in an amount equal to at least 10 percent of the bid to guarantee that the bidder will enter into the contract if it is so awarded. The successful bidder will be required to submit a faithful performance bond, payment bond, and liability and workers' compensation insurance with the contract. The County supports and encourages equal opportunity contracting. The work is estimated to cost between $7,500,000 and $11,250,000 and shall be completed in 115 working days *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
