This project consists of the interior renovation of approximately 9,500 SF of the ground floor of Chilton Hall and includes classrooms, offices, commons and toilet room spaces. Work includes modifications to the mechanical, electrical, and data systems to support the renovation. The project is being conducted to enhance student retention by creating an environment conductive to student engagement and academic success. Notice to Proceed for construction is anticipated to be April 2025. Scope of work includes the following: Student-Operated Café: Establish a café that will be managed by students, serving as a resource for fostering academic and social interaction. -Student Lounge Area: Design a dedicated lounge space for students to relax and collaborate. -Creation of Two New Classrooms: Construct two modern classrooms to accommodate expanding educational needs. -Office Space for UNT Wise: Develop updated office facilities for UNT Wise, enhancing operational efficiency. -Renovation of Restroom Facilities: Upgrade existing restrooms to improve accessibility and comfort. -New Individual Use Restroom: Install an individual use restroom to further support student needs. The selected contractor will be responsible for the comprehensive renovation of all designated spaces within scope of work. The University of North Texas (UNT) will retain responsibility for the following components: -Data Communication and Telecommunications -Furniture procurement and installation -Audio-Visual systems Plan Rooms with bid documents on file include: McGraw-Hill Construction Plan Centre (Irving), ABC Plan Room (Irving), DFW Minority (Dallas), AGC TEXO and sift Plan Room (Dallas).
