The City of Hayward is seeking a contractor to provide roadway striping per this Request for Quote (RFQ) specifications. Estimated quantities of striping materials are provided in Attachment A. The project is expected to result in an enhanced walking environment, lower traffic speeds on Mission Boulevard, and convenient parking for customers and employees of downtown businesses. The project consists of the installation of colored paint, striping, and flexible delineators per Attachment B. The qualified contractor is expected to furnish and install specified materials per the plan set provided by the City. Materials include white thermoplastic striping, purple thermoplastic with reflective glass beads, FG300 posts, and signage. Work items should comply with City standard plans and specifications, OSHA, ADA, Caltrans, and CA MUTCD requirements. The contractor should submit a traffic control plan for the jobsite and provide all temporary traffic control devices and jobsite security. The work site should be kept neat, tidy, and passable. The entire work shall be diligently prosecuted to Project Substantial Completion before the expiration of TWENTY-FIVE (25) WORKING DAYS beginning on the first working day charged as shown in the Notice to Proceed (i.e., beginning on the following Monday) and ending on Project Substantial Completion. Project Final Completion shall be completed within FIVE (5) WORKING DAYS from Substantial Completion. (Said 25 WORKING DAY and 5 WORKING DAY periods, collectively, referred to as the Contract Time.) Substantial Completion Liquidated Damages: The Contractor shall pay to the City of Hayward the sum of $1,000 per day in excess of the number of working days prescribed above, for each and every CALENDAR DAY's delay in achieving Project Substantial Completion.
