bid proposals will be received for the following project: 17TH AVENUE AND LEXINGTON STREET PARKING LOT - MWRD IMPROVEMENTS The scope of work of the project involves the removal and replacement of curb and gutter, driveway apron, removal of existing stone and ground surface, installation of permeable pavement with aggregate stone storage area, and all other appurtenant work thereto. All bid proposals offered must be accompanied by a bid bond, cashiers check, or certified check payable to the Village of Broadview in an amount which shall not be less than Five Percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted by the Village, a contract will be entered into with the Village. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of the proposals without the consent of the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Broadview for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled time of closing bids. The successful bidder will be required to include the following sub-contracts as part of their bid: 1) $69,900 for Women-Owned Business Enterprises (WBE) and/or Minority-Owned Business Enterprises (MBE). This amount can be all MBE, all WBE, or a combination of each. 2) $ 10,485 for Veteran-Owned Business Enterprises (VBE) The WBE/MBE requirements listed within these Contracts are requirements, not goals. The Village is using a combination of MWRDGC and local funding for the completion of the project. The Contractor shall be required to furnish sufficient insurance or guaranty of indemnity to the Village of Broadview, Illinois, the County of Cook, Illinois, and the Engineer against any and all claims which might arise for damages to persons or property due to the negligence of the Contractor or Subcontractors, or their officers, agents, employees or servants, during the construction of said improvement and until the said improvement has been finally accepted as complete by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Broadview, Illinois.
