Site work and paving for a road / highway in Maywood, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
All proposals or bids offered must be accompanied by a bid bond, cash, or a certified or cashier's check made payable to the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Maywood in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the proposal as a guarantee that if the proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into and the performance of the contract is properly secured. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of the proposals without the consent of the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Maywood for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled time of closing bids. The bidder is specifically advised that the Village is a Subgrantee of the County of Cook of a grant made pursuant to the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 as amended, pursuant to an agreement entered into and between the County of Cook and the Village. Payments to the Contractor will be made by the Village and reimbursed by Cook Countys CDBG Program in accordance with the terms of the aforesaid agreement. The successful bidder for the construction of the improvement will be required to file a performance bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the bid, with sureties to be approved by the President and Board of Trustees, which performance bonds shall be conditioned upon proper and faithful performance by the Contractor of the work specified in accordance with the plans and specification therefore, according to the time and terms and conditions of the contract; and also that the bidder and contractor shall properly pay all debts incurred by the Contractor in the execution of the work, including those for labor and materials furnished. Bidders shall adhere to certain Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) bid submittal requirements and observe the stated DBE goals as described within the contract documents. All bidders must Back provide proof that they are prequalified with the Illinois Department of Transportation to perform at least 50% of the value of the work before being issued bidding documents. The Contractor shall be required to furnish sufficient insurance or guaranty of indemnity to the Village of Maywood, Illinois, the County of Cook, Illinois, and the Engineer against any and all claims which might arise for damages to persons or property due to the negligence of the Contractor or Subcontractors, or their officers, agents, employees or servants, during the construction of said improvement and until the said improvement has been finally accepted as complete by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Maywood, Illinois. The work to be performed will include: The removal and replacement of defective drainage structures, storm laterals, repair of the sewer main in spots where needed, and the removal of sidewalk and driveways where needed. 21st Avenue from Van Buren Street to Adams Street is being reconstructed with a new aggregate base, full curb and gutter replacement, and hot-mix asphalt removal and replacement. 21st Avenue from Adams Street to 1223 S 21st Ave is being resurfaced with the removal and replacement of hot-mix asphalt, pavement patches as needed, and curb and gutter replacement as needed. The recommended goal is 24% Minority-owned Business Enterprise (MBE) and 10% Women-owned Business Enterprise (WBE). The 35% Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal is optional The right to reject any and all proposals or bids reserved.
