Renovation of a multi-residential development in Arab, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development.
Smoke Detectors And/or Carbon Monoxide Detectors Will Be Provided By Arab Housing Authority To Be Installed By Contractor. The Housing Authority Will Provide All Items Necessary For The Installation Of The Smoke Detectors Based On List From Contractor. The Contractor Will Be Responsible For Removal Of Any Existing Smoke Detector And Installation Of New Detectors For A Full Functioning System. A Certified Check Or Bank Draft Payable To The Arab Housing Authority, U.s. Government Bonds, Or A Satisfactory Bid Bond Executed By The Bidder And Acceptable Sureties In An Amount Equal To Five Percent Of The Bid Shall Be Submitted With Each Bid. The Successful Bidder Will Be Required To Furnish And Pay For Satisfactory Performance And Payment Bond Or Bonds If The Contract Exceeds $100,000. All Bonds Must Be Signed By An Alabama Resident Or Resident Agent. Note: The Surety Shall Be Acceptable To The Housing Authority And Shall Be Currently Listed As An Approved Surety In The U.s. Treasury Department Circular Number 570 To Act As Surety On Bonds Securing Government Contracts. Attention Is Called To The Fact That Not Less Than The Minimum Salaries And Wages As Set Forth In The Contract Documents Must Be Paid On This Project And That The Contractor Must Ensure That Employees And Applicants For Employment Are Not Discriminated Against Because Of Their Race, Color, Religion, Sex, Or National Origin. Each Bid Must Include The Non-collusive Affidavit And The Previous Participation Certificate Signed By The Bidder And On The Correct Hud Forms. All Bidders Are Advised To Ensure That The Hud Form 2530 Is Completed Accurately And Each Block Completed. If The Hud Form 2530 Is Not Correct, The Contract Award Date Will Be Delayed. Contractor Shall Be Licensed In Accordance With The State Laws. Proof Of Licensure Will Be Required On The Outside Of The Bid Envelope Before Bid Will Be Considered. Subcontractors Whose Contracts Exceed $50,000.00, Must Also Be Licensed To The State Of Alabama Law And Show Proof Thereof. Bid May Be Held By The Arab Housing Authority For A Period Not To Exceed Sixty (30) Days From The Date Of Opening Of Bids For The Purpose Of Reviewing Them And Investigating The Qualifications Of The Bidders, Prior To Awarding The Contract. Any Successful Bidder Who Withdraws Their Bid For Any Reason Within The 30-day Period May Forfeit The 5 Percent Bid Bond. SCOPE OF WORK: 3. Contractor will replace existing smoke alarm in hallway with new alarm. 4. Where new smoke alarms are to be installed a 4" cut in box will be used. 6. Placement of all alarms must be In accordance to the IRC building code. 10. All debris shall be removed from the project site and properly disposed by the Contractor in accordance with all local, state and federal requirements. 8. The Arab Housing Authority will supply the smoke alarms, boxes, wire, and wire nuts. All other tools and material needed to complete the project is the responsibility of the contractor. 11. Contractor shall coordinate with PHA for scheduling and access. The Contractor shall protect tenants' belongings from harm or damage while working in the units. Any damage caused by the contractor shall be repaired/replaced to the satisfaction and at no cost to the Arab Housing Authority. 1. Project will bid out as LABOR ONLY. Contractor should include a labor price per unit as well as a total labor bid price. 9. Any damages and/or loss to building, contents and/or site as a result of the work, shall be restored or replaced to existing condition by the contractor at no expense to the owner. 2. The contract is for installing, per manufacturers recommendation, 211 new smoke alarms. The alarms will be installed in the bedroom(s). Installation of Smoke Detectors at Arab Housing Authority Arab, Alabama CFP-AL09P091501-22 7. Contractor will test all devices after installation to ensure proper operation. Any issues will be resolved prior to contractor leaving premises. . 5. New smoke alarms shall be installed with 14-3 wire so that all alarms will be interconnected per IRC [Section R 314.5]. Contractorshall comply with all applicable laws, ordinances, and codes of the State and City Governments
