Renovation of a water / sewer project in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
***Apparent low bid from previous bid opening: The Price Erecting Company - $91,622 The project contemplated herein as outlined below. There are currently 12 rotary dryers that are located on the second floor of the Dewatering and Drying (D&D) Bldg. 258 at the Jones Island Water Reclamation Facility. The rotary dryers are responsible for heating dry belt filter press cake into solid pellets that is then further processed to be sold as Milorganite fertilizer. The following specification describes the repairs needed to be made to the four (4) dryers, however, at the discretion of MMSD and Veolia, a quantity of 0 - 4 of these may be requested for repairs. Bid Item #1: Replace the A, B, C and F Blades. Bid Item #2: Replace the Discharge Drop Chute. Bid Item #3: Replace Channel Wear Strips. Bid Item #4: Liner and drum Weld Repairs The 12 dryer drums are perforated cylindrical shells with 12 longitudinal internal flights. The drums are constructed of ASTM A-36 carbon steel with a partial 316L stainless steel liner that is located in the feed end of the dryer. The drums are 8 feet in diameter, 57.5 feet long, and sloped downward at 1/4 inch per foot toward the discharge end of the dryer. The dryers are located on the second floor of the Dewatering and Drying (D&D) Bldg. 258. There are twelve A, B, C and F blades that are located in the first 12 feet of the drum. These blades are attached to the 316L stainless steel shell via 3/8 thick brackets. The quantity of brackets required per blade varies. The discharge drop chutes are located at the discharge end of the drum and are constructed of 12 @ 25# channels, 68, fitted with a 26.5 x 13.25 gusset and handle.
