Site work for a water / sewer project in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Bids shall include a Bid Security Bond or Certified Check, payable to Montour School District, in an amount of five percent (5%) of the bid, in accordance with Instructions to Bidders, as included in the Contract Documents. Such Bid Bond or Check shall be submitted with the understanding that it shall guarantee that the Bidder's Bid will not be withdrawn for a period of at least sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids; that if the Bid is accepted, the Bidder will execute the Form of Agreement, as provided by the Owner, with all blanks appropriately filled and will submit the required 100% Performance and Labor and Material Bonds (submitted on A.I.A. Document A312) and 100% Maintenance Bond as specified in Section 007216, Article 11; and that in the event of withdrawal of said Bid within said period, or the failure to enter into said Agreement and submit said Bonds within ten days after the Bidder has received notice ofthe acceptance of the Bid, the Bidder shall be liable to the above mentioned Owner for the full amount of such Bond or Check as representing the damage to the Owner on account of the default of the Bidder in any particular hereof. The Bid Bond or Check of all Bidders whose Bids are not accepted will be returned within ten calendar days after the scheduled bid opening date. The Owner reserves the right to accept or decline the Contractor's Withdrawal of Bid Request and reserves the right to retain the bid bond. The Bidder shall submit his Bid with the understanding that (1) the Work shall be completed in accordance with Section 011000 "Scheduling Requirements ofthe Work", and the Final Project Completion Date(s) shall be as stated therein, (2) the time for the completion of the Work shall be considered of the essence of this Contract, and (3) for the costs of extra inspection, salaries of contingent forces and other expenses entailed by the Owner by delay in completing the contract, said Owner shall be entitled to liquidated damages in the following amounts Final Project Completion Date $500.00 Final Project Cloeout Completion Date $400.00 The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in bids when such waiver is in the interest ofthe Owner SCOPE A. This section of specifications includes all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials and all other means of construction necessary to perform the cast-in-place concrete work as shown on drawings, described in this specification, or as is necessary to complete the work in a first-class manner. B. Should the completed work of this Section, or any portion thereof, fail to be in compliance (nonconforming) with all the requirements herein specified, but ultimately be accepted by the Owner, the Contractor shall provide a credit to the Owner calculated at $100 per cubic yard for every 100 psi under the specified strength at 28 days, and/or for every 1" over or under the specified slump, if super plasticizers are used, and/or if the air content tests below 5% or greater than 7%. The Contractor shall provide an additional credit to the Owner calculated at $100 per square foot for exterior concrete slab and/or curb work not water cured as herein specified. 1. All cracked concrete shall be replaced as specified in Paragraph 3.011. The Owner's election to have any of the following work performed, does not constitute an extension of time to the Contract. Item Description 1) Furnish and install 50 linear feet of 15" diameter HDPE storm water piping to maximum 20'-0" depth, beyond the extent shown on drawings; material as specified in Section 334000 and as detailed in Detail C1/SP2.1. Include excavation, backfill, and disposal of excess excavation as specified in Section 312000. 2) Furnish and install 50 linear feet of 18" diameter HDPE storm water piping to maximum 20'-0" depth, beyond the extent shown on drawings; material as specified in Section 334000 and as detailed in Detail C1/SP2.1. Include excavation, backfill, and disposal of excess excavation as specified in Section 312000. 3) Furnish and install 50 linear feet of Subsurface Cutoff Drain, to be located by the Owner's Geotechnical Representative. Comply with Detail A5/SP2.1 and materials as specified in Section 334000. Include excavation, backfill, and disposal of excess excavation as specified in Section 312000. 4) Furnish and install 50 linear feet of Subsurface Bleeder Drain, to be located by the Owner's Geotechnical Representative. Comply with Detail A6/SP2.1 and materials as specified in Section 334000. Include excavation, backfill, and disposal of excess excavation as specified in Section 312000. 5) Furnish and install 50 square yards of asphalt paving and stone base, beyond the extent shown on drawings. Comply with Heavy Duty Detail A1/SP2.1 and materials as specified in Section 321216. Include removal and disposal of existing asphalt paving and/or lawn and preparation of subgrade. 6) Furnish and install two (2) 2'-0 x 4'-0 x 10'-0" deep (maximum) storm inlets with structural steel tops, beyond the extent shown on drawings. Comply with Detail C6/SP2.1 and materials as specified in Section 334000. Include excavation, backfill, and disposal of excess excavation as specified in Section 312000
