Site work and paving for a transportation facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility.

PROJECT NO. 542401 CONTRACT NO. CA-005449 AIP NO.: 3-49-0033-143-2025 3-49-0033-144-2025 Question Deadline 02/27/2025 All requests for interpretation of the Contract Documents shall be made in writing and delivered to the Owner Addendum #1-#5 have been issued as of 3-24-2025. Note from Ames Construction: if you are planning on sending us a quote, contact us for our Form H. Sheets EA902, EA932, EA933, and EA934 will be adjusted in addendum no. 4 to clarify the payment and installation of this duct bank. Sht. S351 of the main package will be revised to correctly say ISSUED FOR BID in addendum no. 4 and have its title block updated to match the other main package sheets. Sht. S351 of the alternative bid will be updated to correctly show the alternative concept and correct title block. These changes will be made in an addendum. Note that alternative bid sheets that replace main package sheets will have a title block that reads TAXIWAYS U & V ALT. BID and share the same sheet title and number with a sheet from the main package. Addendum no. 4 will remove the West VSR Tunnel storm drain lift station and the storm drain pipe mentioned in this question will not be installed. The retaining wall area pay item is separate from the seal slab and gravel base. Excavation, aggregate backfill material (P-159-1), structural concrete, reinforcing steel, and driven piles in the seal slab are their own pay items. So the retaining wall bid item covers from the top of wall down to the top of seal slab, and then the remaining items covers from top of seal slab to bottom of the gravel base. A detail for a Plowable End Section will be added to Sheet C284 - Roadway Typical Sections and a new bid item, Item D-756-4 - Plowable End Section (Each), will be included in Addendum No. 4. These items are incidental to the sewer lift station and have special requirements. Refer to sheets C558 and C559. A line item for this will be added in addendum no. 4 as L-110-7 as 8W-4 Ductbank, Concrete Encased. Two-line items for this will be added in addendum no. 4. L-125-18 L853 Retroreflector Flush-Mounted and L-125-19 L853 Retroreflector Stake-Mounted. Section 159-2.2 Subgrade Stabilization was added for clarification to the P-159 Aggregate Backfill Material Specification. The P-159 Aggregate Backfill Material specification will be included in upcoming Addendum No. Enbridge has indicated they estimate it will take their contractor approximately 2 to 3 weeks to install the new gas line and removed the old gas line. The Enbridge contractor will be able to move a trench box should it be necessary. The steps for the Type 1 inlet shown on drawing C572 will be eliminated. Drawing C572 will be re-issued with Addendum No. 4. Plan Sheets C256 and C257 are correct. 3 millings should be placed in the interior of medians as shown on these plans. Refer to spec 260520 and 335143 for all underground conduit and wiring until junction boxes WJ-1, WJ-2, CJ-1, CJ-2, EJ-1, EJ-2. Refer to spec L-119 for all conduit and wiring from those junction boxes to the obstruction lights. Refer to Note 1 on EL-509 requiring hot-dipped galvanized coatings on all steel elements. No additional coatings are required (no painting is required). Structural elements may be square tube steel, channel, angle or similar flat shapes as selected by the structural engineer. The Division 26 contractor is to coordinate this design with the structural engineer to integrate effective mounting surfaces for all equipment and provide flexibility for mounting equipment and securing conduit to the extent possible. Typically this would include galvanized strut for maximum flexibility. The main structure shall be welded at all connection points with bolted connections for the variable strut elements. The reference to Class 3 Earth Fill in paragraph 3.01.A.1.a will be modified to reference P-154-L-1 Subbase Course. Anchor lengths and locations were checked against pump station locations and no conflicts were found. All concrete-encased duct banks wiring/cables will be provided and installed by RMP or the airports on-call telecom vendor. The Division 26/33 contractor is only responsible for the duct bank, vaults, conduit proofing, and pull ropes for the referenced duct banks.
