The project includes construction of a new 1.25 MG composite style water tower. The tower will consist of an elevated welded carbon-steel storage tank supported by a reinforced concrete pedestal. Additional work will include on-site water main piping, sodium hypochlorite chemical feed system, installation of an off-site gravity sanitary sewer, and various site design elements. This work is to be completed within 18-months with a Substantial Completion date of October 1, 2026. SAID bids must be accompanied with a Certified Check made payable to St. Joseph County, Indiana or Bid Bond executed by the bidder and surety company in a sum of not less than ten percent [10%] of the total amount of the bid, together with a non-collusive affidavit as prescribed in Form 96, Revised 2013. Bids must be filed in the office of the Redevelopment Commission no later than 8:00 a.m. [EDT] February 18, 2025, 11th Floor, County-City Building, South Bend, Indiana. The bidder awarded the contract will be required to furnish separate Payment, Performance, and Maintenance Bonds before commencing work. The Payment and Performance Bond shall each remain in effect throughout the entire construction period in an amount equal to the awarded Contract Amount. The required Maintenance Bond shall remain in effect for a period of three years from the date of final acceptance in an amount of 10 percent [10%] of the awarded Contract Amount. The bidder's attention is directed to the Affirmative Action Requirements and the Insurance Provisions of the Project. THE Redevelopment Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept the one which, in its judgment will be to the best interest of St. Joseph County, Indiana. The Redevelopment Commission also reserves the right to hold Bids up to 60 calendar days from the receipt of the Bid. The successful bidder is anticipated to receive: Notice of Award on February 25, 2025 A signed contract and a notice to proceed on March 11, 2025. The successful bidder is responsible to provide all contract documentation to allow the Owner to sign the contract on or before March 11, 2025. Additional contract days will not be granted to the successful bidder for failure to provide the contract documentation.
