Garden City Public Schools is looking to procure proposals to replace about 80% of the older roof sections at Lathers Elementary located at 28351 Marquette St. Garden City, MI 48135. Please see attached overhead view, the darker roof areas need to be replaced, the lighter brown section is to stay. Please confirm your attendance for the pre-bid meeting to Jesse Emmons. In compliance with MCL 380 1267, the bid shall be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the owner or any employees of the bidder and any member of the board, or the superintendent of the school district. The bid shall also be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing whether the bidder is an Iran Linked Business in compliance with PA 517 of 2012. The board shall not accept a bid that does not include these sworn and notarized disclosure statements. Certified check or Bid Bond by an approved surety company must accompany each proposal in an amount not less than 5% of the bid amount. Price proposal shall be good for a period of no less than 60 days from the bid date. The board reserves the right to waive any irregularities, reject any or all bids, or accept any bid when in the opinion of the board such action will best serve the District's interest. Bidders shall be able to demonstrate the following. Shall be reputable, a recognized organization with at least five years of successful experience on work of this type and scope of equal or better quality than this project. Provide a project work schedule, (work not to begin until school is out, with a potential start date of June 23, 2025). General site safety is the bidder's responsibility. Site warnings, (no parking areas, cleanup site daily, fines for violating warnings). Firm prices, withdraw of bids, termination for convenience of district. The district is NOT automatically exempt from State of Michigan Sales and Use Taxes. The District must pay these taxes when materials are to be incorporated into realty. Hence, for materials that are permanently attached, built-in, incorporated or otherwise made part of the structure all applicable taxes shall be paid by the contractor. The District is exempt from sales and use taxes if the materials are movable and are not permanently made part of the structure. Other specifications: Include warranty information, and specify quality inspection upon completion.
