This project involves design and construction services associated with the installation of 2 miles of new 30-inch transmission main along Merriman Road between Glenwood and Marquette Roads. Alternatives evaluated included new main on either: 1. Hannon Road (rejected because of its poor route relative to other options) 2. Newburgh Road (rejected because it is not technically feasible as it will not meet contract pressures. 3. Merriman Road (accepted because it is superior in its transmission capabilities, routing and opportunity to decommission the Michigan Avenue Pump Station). As of October 8, 2024, this project is currently in the The Great Lakes Water Authority's FY 2025-2029 CIP. Information regarding a design team and the contractor selection has not been disclosed. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2029. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
