For all bids over $100,000, the City of Davenport requires a Bid Bond of 5% of the bid amount. A copy of the front page of the bid bond must be attached in the Response Attachments tab of the bid package. Bids over $100,000, submitted without a bid bond will not be considered. For awarded bids over $100,000, the awarded contractor will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount, and said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained. Working Days - Working days will commence once curb and/or sidewalk has been removed from one or more locations, and the Contractor shall prosecute the work continuously at those locations until the work is substantially complete (all pavement backfilled and open to use). The Contractor shall schedule and execute the work such that no more than five (5) working days elapse between the time that curb and/or sidewalk removal begins at a location and work on the next controlling item begins at the same location. Sod may be placed separately without working days counting, however payment for the location will not be made until sod is placed and only minor punch list items may remain Liquidated Damages - Liquidated damages shall be $200 per day, per location up to $1,000/day, for areas not complete within five (5) working days after the start of work at a given location. All assigned work shall be completed, including final cleanup and removal of all equipment for the bid no later than November 1st, unless modified by change order.
