Site work for a mixed-use development in Santa Monica, California. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and water / sewer project.

The existing sewer lateral contains heavy rust and is prone to stoppages. The scope of work for the Marine Park Waste Pipe Project consists of the installation of a new 4" sewer lateral in the Growing Place Preschool. The lateral will connect from an existing waste pipe to an existing sewer main. A portion of existing lateral will be abandoned and capped downstream of the new lateral connection. Base Scope of Work: 1. Excavate down to existing sewer lateral in the existing Water Closet. 2. Sawcut and jack hammer existing concrete slab to exterior of building. Remove existing exterior landscaped, asphalt and concrete surfaces to existing manhole in parking lot. 3. Install 4" diameter HDPE sewerlateral and intercept existing sewer lateral in the Water Closet. 4. Cap and abandon existing lateral after new connection (Diagram attached). 5. Restore allremoved materials and replace all floor/ground finishes to match existing adjacent. 6. All permits shall be obtained and supplied by Contractor. 7. Attached diagram is provided for reference. 8. On-site work to be performed during regular Santa Monica's constructor hours. a. Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 b. Saturday, 9:00 a.m until 5:00 p.m. c. Sundays and holidays, no work permitted. 9. On-site work must be coordinated with Architecture Services Division, Housing and Human Services Division and Growing Place School at minimum of 72 hours in advance. Marine Park Facility Waste Pipe Replacement PROJECT ESTIMATE: $50,000.00 CONTRACT DAYS: 60 days LIQUIDATED DAMAGES:$770.00 Each Bid must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check made payable to the City of Santa Monica, or a Bidder's bond (using the form provided in the Bid Form) for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the amount bid as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract with the City. Bid bonds (or cashier's checks) must be scanned and uploaded. Within ten (10) Days after the issuance of the Notice of Award and prior to commencing Work on the Project, Contractor shall file with City good and sufficient Labor & Material Payment and Performance Bonds each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Sum. The bonds shall be signed by both Contractor and Surety and properly notarized on the City's provided forms or such other forms as required by City. Should any bond required hereunder or any surety on such bond become or be determined by City to be insufficient, it shall be replaced within ten (10) Days by a bond that fully complies with the requirements of Article 11.2 (Bond Requirements) of the City's General Conditions. No further payments to Contractor for Work performed shall be made or due until Contractor has fully complied with all the requirements. Question Submission Deadline: February 25, 2025, 5:00pm. Rejection of Bids Bids may be rejected if they show any alteration in form, additions not called for, conditions or alternative Bids, incomplete Bids or irregularities. The City reserves the right to reject any and all Bids.
