The deadline to submit questions will be Tuesday February 18, 2025 @ 5:00 p.m. Questions should be directed to the following email: LockProject-2025@gaylor.k12.mi.us Gaylord Community Schools reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities or defects, to award on a split-order or lump-sum basis, and accept other than the low bid when deemed to be in the School Districts best interests. The School District reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities or modify conditions and specifications by mutual agreement with the selected supplier, both at the time of acceptance of this bid as so modified and subsequent thereto. Objective o Extend the current installation project for interior door wireless access control locks at specific Gaylord Community Schools buildings 2. General o Gaylord Community Schools (GCS) has an existing Avigilon Access Control Management system that will remain the foundation for management/control of all electronic locks. The wired system is built on Mercury EP, LP and MP series controllers supporting individual and multiple doors as appropriate. There are a number of existing wireless locks in use based on the ASSA ABLOY and Aperio equipment line. This is a continuation of an on-going/existing project o GCS intends to extend the established standard of equipment selection while limiting variation from existing and new models of the same product lines; this project will eventually extend district wide o Prospective contractors must be familiar with Avigilon ACM and fully capable of properly configuring new locks/doors, readers, controllers and management configurations in the existing system; must have a minimum five year installation history with these products; and provide references for at least three recent projects of this scope o Prospective contractors must be Headquartered in Michigan and able to provide service to installed products for warranty and general maintenance 3. Project specific instructions for selected Contractor o Install Wireless Access Control at the following locations (see Appendix for specific door inventory) o North Ohio Elementary (NOE) building o South Maple Elementary (SME) building o Gaylord Board Office / Early Childhood Center (GBO/ECC) building o Equipment to be used as appropriate, will include o Avigilon Mercury control boards (MP series) o LifeSafety Power or Avigilon managed enclosures o HID Signo series readers o ASSA ABLOY mechanical locking hardware systems o Aperio wireless locking systems with PoE hubs - Installation and placement of Aperio hubs will take into consideration the current project and future wireless lock installations to provide appropriate coverage/use - Existing Aperio A40 hubs will be used for doors within range at GBO/ECC o All hardware installations are replacing/re-fit over existing equipment o Hardware design and finishings to match or near-match existing hardware; final approval of selections must be coordinated with Maintenance o Surface covering (scar plates) may be required for some installations and must match existing installations and be coordinated with Maintenance o NOE, SME and GBO/ECC buildings will require at least one (1) new power supply cabinet and Avigilon Mercury controllers for attaching Aperio Hubs; all new cabinets require individual battery backup o Cabinets will be installed/co-located with existing data frames in each building; coordinate with Technology o All installations must provide accurate door position feedback (open/closed) through Avigilon ACM o Wired solutions may be more appropriate for exterior and hallway doors which have rim lock (crash bar) systems; bid should provide recommendations and options as appropriate o GCS will provide replacement mechanical key cores for installation or existing sets will be used/transferred into new hardware by selected contractor o GCS currently uses several electronic key/card formats; information to be provided to selected contractor
