Overview The E.M. Stickney Plant is requesting bids for Two (2) new flocculator gear drive units. These units will have side mounted 3HP electric motors that are 460V/3PH. They will also have new shafts that come down into the flocculator basin with a four-blade mixer to slowly stir the water for flocculation to occur. Bid Specifications Flocculator gear box that comes with a raised base plate that puts the bottom of the gear box itself at about 18" 20" over the concrete floor it's mounted to. Flocculator gear box will have a gear reduction ratio to allow for bottom output shaft to turn in an RPM range of 15-25 RPM depending on motor speed. Flocculator gear box will be a side mount right angle gear box for the electric motor to be directly mounted on the side of the unit. The electric motor will be a 3HP, 460V/3PH motor. The output shaft will have a flanged connection that goes through the bottom of the concrete floor the unit will mount too. The mixing shaft will have a flanged connection to connect to the output shaft of the flocculator gear box output shaft. The mixing shaft will be approximately 10 ft long. The mixing end of the shaft will have four rectangular mixing blades. The diameter of the mixer blades from one end of one blade to the other end of the opposing blade will be 10 ft to 13 ft. Cost must include the training of how to maintain and properly operate the unit after installation and having personnel from vendor here to do this. We will have our contract general contractor do the removal of old units and installation of new units. Drawings of current flocculator basins will be attached to this bid request.
