Renovation of an educational facility in Waterloo, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Work is identified as Work is ident STC Skylight Replacement, also known known as as WR# 53159 59 as prepared by Work the Owner, University of Waterloo Work under this Contract includes the replacement of the existing skylight system at the STC building at the University of Waterloo, and coordination with the University of Waterloo Plant Operations, in the City of Waterloo in the Province of Ontario. The following is a brief summary of the scope of work: 1 The installation and maintenance of hoarding, site protection, overhead protection and construction signage around the area of work as described in specification Section 01 56 00-Protection of Work and Property. 2 The installation and maintenance of an overhead lighting system for the area of work as described in Section 01 56 00-Protection of Work and Property. 3 The installation and maintenance of access equipment and scaffolding for the area of work as described in specification Section 01 56 00- Protection of Work and Property 4 Conduct and repair exploratory openings during shop drawing phase, to confirm existing skylight system support details. 5 Contractor to isolate sloped window sprinkler system prior to work at the beginning of each shift, including notification to the Owner's Central Plant. Contractor to maintain fire watch at all times while system is isolated, Reactivate system at the end of each shift 6 Removal and disposal of existing sloped glazing systems, flashings, insulation, etc. Localized demolition of existing curbs and roofing systems as required to completed skylight system structural support connections. 7 Provide engineered stamped shop drawing design of skylight systems and related structural steel supports. 8 Design, supply and install new structural supports and rebuild existing curbs, to support new skylight systems. 9 Supply, and install new steel reinforced skylight system, including glazing units, gaskets, sealants, shims, setting blocks, perimeter membranes, insulated flashings, etc. 10 Repair interior finishes were damaged by the work at all locations of existing water damage on the interior ceiling. Paint interior finishes comer to comer where damaged by work. 11 Assist with water penetration testing of skylight systems. 12 Repair all areas damaged by construction activity, specifically, the Contractor shall repair all damaged resulting from the construction to the satisfaction of the Consultant including repainting of surfaces in accordance with these specifications which have been damaged. 13 Final cleaning of the structure, fixtures, roofing, etc., and the disposal of all waste products and/or debris generated by the construction activity, as well as any The project involves, replacement of the skylight over the atrium at the Science Teaching Complex (STC) building at UW. Full scope of work is listed in the project specifications. Form of agreement shall be the CCDC2 -2020 edition complete with Owner Supplementary Conditions. Joints between wood or wood composite materials, plastic laminate, trim, baseboard, molding, and casements. These joints include and are limited to wood to wood or wood composite substrates, and wood to gypsum drywall, plaster or similar wall surfaces. These joints shall only be between field painted surfaces. Surface defects, cracks, joints, voids or holes greater than 1/8 inch (3.18mm) wide, deep or across in wood, masonry, gypsum drywall, plaster or any other substrate. A Performance Bond to secure due and proper performance of Contractor's obligations under Contract in an amount equal to 100% of Contract Price. A Labour & Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to 50% of Contract Price to secure.
