The Roadway for new Asphalt is approximately 10,230 square meters in total. The existing road consists of a reclaimed asphalt. The total square meters of road is estimated, as the road width varies throughout the span of the project. Contractor will be required to verify all measurements after the job commences and compare with the measurements provided. Locations of work: 5th Avenue (running east to west between 16th Avenue to Steep Street) Contractor Scope of Work: o All existing base material (reclaim Asphalt) can be left in place, reworked as needed and used as a suitable base o Shape compacted base to a minimum of a 2% crown o Complete a proof roll in each location to be supervised and signed off by Regina Beach management o Apply a layer of SS1 at the recommended rate to the entire prepared surface o Supply and install layer of new hot mix asphalt at a thickness required under the tender (three quoted thicknesses are to be given) ensuring that the minimum 2 % crown is achieved o Complete 1 marshall analysis for every 500 tonnes of asphalt used and provide the town with results o Complete 1 nuclear density test for every 500 square meters of asphalt applied with a requirement of 97% density and provide the town with results o Approximately 12 water main values located inside of 5th Avenue would be required to be raised to the appropriate final grade The town will supply a location at the landfill for any removed Asphalt to be disposed of. The contractor will be responsible for the removal and the hauling of the old asphalt to the site at our landfill If it is found that any additional base needs to be added and compacted it must be estimated accordingly and discussed with the Town. Any costs associated with surveying and or testing will be the responsibility of the contractor The contractor must provide and maintain a safe work environment in each location, provide any safety barriers needed and deal with any traffic diversion as required. The lowest or any tender may not necessarily be accepted, and the Town of Regina Beach reserves the right to reject any or all tenders. In accordance with the Towns Contract General Conditions. In short, supply an insurance certificate stating Commercial General Liability no less than 5 Million dollars, Auto no less than 2 million and Contractors Equipment 'All-Risk' to the value of the equipment. The contractor must also be able to provide a letter from WCB stating that they are in good standing. The Town of Regina Beach will be requesting Tenders for a Paving Project on one of our major roadways in the municipality, 5th Avenue.
