Post Road Water Main Replacement Scope: The scope of this project includes the installation of approximately 2,300 linear feet of new DI water main and services along Post Road and West Main Street. Work also includes removal and abandonment of existing asbestos cement (AC) water main. Question Deadline 01/21/2026 at 4:00 PM ET PERFORMANCE BOND AND LABOR AND MATERIAL PAYMENT BOND The successful Bidder will be required to furnish the Owner with a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract price, as security for faithful performance of the Contract and executed by a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Rhode Island and approved by the Owner. INSURANCE The Contractor shall assume responsibility and liability for all injuries to persons or damages to property, directly or indirectly due to, or arising out of, his operations under the contract and shall be responsible for the proper care and protection of all work performed until completion and final acceptance by the Owner. BID SECURITY A. Each Bid proposal must be accompanied by Bid security (security deposit) in the form of a Bid Bond, payable to the Owner, in the amount of 5% of the total amount Bid. Bid security of the successful Bidder will be retained by the Owner until Bid requirements are met or forfeited to the Owner upon Bidder's failure to perform contract obligations. The Notice to Proceed is anticipated to be issued by April 8, 2026. The number of days to achieve Substantial Completion is set at 90 days following the Notice to Proceed. The number of days to achieve readiness for final payment is set at 120 days following the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages will be in the amount of $1500.00 for each calendar day of delay from the date established for Substantial Completion QUESTIONS, ADDENDA AND INTERPRETATIONS No interpretation of the meaning of the Plans, Specifications, or other Contract Documents will be made to any Bidder orally.
