Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in South Elgin, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
Description of Work. The proposed construction consists of approximately 4,874 lineal feet of 8-inch water main replacement, 451 lineal feet of 6-inch water main replacement, fire hydrants, valves and vaults, water service replacements, temporary parkway and local street pavement restoration, and other miscellaneous items of work. The Village of South Elgin is exempt from the Illinois State, municipal or county Retailers Occupation Tax, Service Occupation Tax, Use Tax, and Service Use Tax as described in Illinois Compiled Statute Chapter 35. Bid prices shall not include the cost of such taxes. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bidder's bond, certified check, bank cashier's check or bank draft payable to the Village of South Elgin for ten percent 10% of the total amount of the Bid as provided in the Bidder Instructions. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive technicalities. Unless the Bids are rejected for good cause, award of contract shall be made to the lowest responsible and responsive Bidder.
