In general, the improvements for which bids are requested will consist of the following: Improvements to the tennis courts located at the corner of Van Dusen Way and Evergreen Road in Ottawa Hills, Ohio. Project includes removal of the existing asphalt surface, regrading existing stone base, placement of new asphalt pavement, applying new acrylic surface system, and site restoration. The estimate for the cost of construction is $334, 125. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty in the form of either a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond for the full amount of the bid (including all add alternates) or a certified check, cashier's check, or an irrevocable letter of credit in an amount equal to 10% of the bid (including all add alternates), as described in the Instructions to Bidders. After the award of the contract let by competitive bid and prior to the time the contract is entered into, bidders shall submit the affidavit required under Ohio Revised Code, Section 5719.042 that the bidder was not charged with any delinquent personal property taxes in Lucas County, Ohio. Bidder must have previous experience successfully completing a minimum of five (5) asphalt tennis courts (or similar asphalt athletic courts) within the last ten (10) years. This is a prevailing wage project. No Bidder may withdraw its bid within sixty (60) days after the bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities in bids, to reject any or all bids, and to conduct such investigation as necessary to determine the lowest and best responsible bidder(s) The Contractor shall provide a one-year maintenance bond in the amount of 25% of the construction cost upon completion of the project. The cost of the maintenance bond shall be included with the lump sum bid.
