The project involves a full interior renovation to accommodate municipal offices and includes the installation of a fireproof vault for secure public record storage. Notably, the Town of Shaftsbury is self-performing the construction, managing the renovation work in-house rather than contracting with an external general contractor. This approach reflects the town’s commitment to cost-efficiency and local oversight as it transforms the facility into a modern civic space.
