Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Kirksville, Missouri. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a residential development; for site work for a residential development; road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The project is repurposing a blighted mobile home park into a tiny home village through a Missouri Department of Economic Development ARPA Federal Initiative and a partnership with the construction trades classes at the Kirksville Area Technical Center. Existing infrastructure has been removed and replaced by new infrastructure for roadways, curb and gutter, sidewalks, water and sewer mains and service lines as the foundation of the village. Four tiny homes are being constructed and ready for sale by the end of the grant project, with ten more tiny homes slated for future construction. As of February 17, 2025, this project is included in the city's 2025 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
