Renovation of a mixed-use development in Hamilton, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
Bidders eligible to submit Bids for this Request for Tenders have been previously selected through the process of a Request for Pre-qualifications, issued under C14-01- 24 General Contractors for Selected Construction Projects for the City of Hamilton which closed on March 13, 2024 The Canadian Radio-Television and Tele-communication Commission (CRTC) is transitioning to an enhanced and expanded emergency response system known as the "Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG911)" program. On June 1, 2017, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) mandated that all telephone companies update their networks and data in order to prepare for enhanced 9-1-1 services to provide Next Generation 911 Service (NG911) to all Canadians. The NG9-1-1 Facilities Renovation Projects in Hamilton at Fire Communications Centre at Fire Station 4 located at 729 Upper Sherman Avenue and the Police Communication Centre located at 1227 Stone Church Road E will provide high quality renovations, including but not limited to architectural, mechanical, electrical, communications building modifications to ensure the physical space, fixtures and technology can be fully optimized to support the changes required to implement the NG911 call handling systems for the Public Safety Answering (PSAP) Point locations. The scope of the renovations will include a multi-location, multi-phase renovations in an occupied operational facility which provides public safety to the resident of the City of Hamilton. Most of the Work is expected to occur outside the regular business hours, to minimize the disruption from the Work to the daily operations. Careful attention and care shall be taken to ensuring there is no unknown disruption to the site, building systems, life safety and services to support the daily operations and staff during the renovations.
