Site work for a mixed-use development in Wayne, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a power facility.
General Contractors That Have Experience in Construction of High Voltage Substations and Transformers. The Proposed Substation for the Wanaque South Pump Station (Wsps), Which Was Constructed in the Mid 1980's, Will Be Constructed Adjacent to the Existing Open-air Substation, Located in an Outdoor Enclosure, and With the Transformer, Elevated on a Concrete Pad to Account for Floodplain Elevations. This Pump Station is Part of an Active Water Treatment Complex, Owned by the North Jersey District Water Supply Commission, Which Supplies Drinking Water to Over 4 Million Residents in Northern New Jersey. As Such, the Existing Substation Needs to Be Kept in Service While the New Substation is Constructed. Pse&g Will Run a New Feeder From the Overhead Lines, Located on Fairfield Avenue, to the New Substation. Once Final Inspections on the New Substation Have Been Approved, the Old (Existing) Substation Will Be Demolished. Pse&g Shall Pull Cable to the Proposed Incoming Section on the Substation Platform. Access Platforms for Operation and Maintenance, and Site Improvements Including a Chain Link Fence Enclosure Are Included in the Scope. Pse&g Provides 26.4 Kv of Power Through Underground Conduit That is Then Converted to 4160v Through the Onsite Electrical Substation. The Largest Loads at the Wsps Consist of Six (6) 2,000 Hp Pumps. Three Pumps Are Fitted With Vfds and Three With Soft Starters. All Supplies and Equipment Needed to Complete the Work Must Be Supplied by the Contractor. No Pre-purchased Materials Are Being Provided by the Commission. The Contractor is Responsible for Components of the Substation Including, but Not Limited to, the Main Transformer, Incoming Circuit Breaker, Substation Electric Protection Systems, Metering, and Concrete and Steel Structures Such as Manholes and the Platform. The Successful Bidder Shall Be a Contractor Licensed in the State of New Jersey, Shall Have and Provide Demonstrable Experience in High Voltage Substations and Transformers. Respondents Shall Include References of at Least Five (5) Projects Completed of Similar Scope and Magnitude, Within the Bids Submitted to the Commission. In Addition, the Firm Must Own and Maintain a Local Office Within 100 Miles of the Commission. The Project Will Be Conducted Under a Single Prime Contract. Surety's Consent: Every Bid Must Be Accompanied by the Consent in Writing of a Surety Company (or Surety Companies) Qualified to Do Business in the State of New Jersey, Who Shall, at the Time of Submission of Such Bid, Qualify as to Its (or Their) Responsibility in an Amount Equal to One Hundred Percent (100%) of the Contract Price of Such Bid.
