Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in West Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; and bridge / tunnel.

The project involves repairing deteriorated storm sewer infrastructure, impaired streambanks, and protecting infrastructure at five locations in the City. To repair storm sewer infrastructure, work includes removing and replacing or resetting new pipe and apron sections. Work also includes concrete repairs to a pipe culvert, replacement of and intake structure, and adjustment of one existing manhole. To repair stream banks and protect infrastructure, the work includes revetment stone placement, including excavation, to reinforce and inhibit further erosion of the streambank areas adjacent to City infrastructure. Associated site work improvements include erosion controls, clearing and grubbing, surface restoration, seeding, removal and replacement of sidewalk, and other related work All bids shall be made on the form furnished by the City through wdm.ionwave.net and shall be filed on or before the time specified above. Each proposal shall be electronically accompanied by a scanned copy of the bid bond or a scanned copy of a cashiers or certified check drawn on an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. If a bid bond is submitted it must be on the form provided with the contract documents. A physical copy of the bid security will be required to be submitted to the City Clerks Office by the apparent low bidder within 48 hours of the bid deadline. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract and guaranteeing payment to all persons supplying labor and/or materials in the execution of the work provided for in the contract. Additionally the contractor must provide the City with a guarantee of maintenance of said improvement in the form of surety for a period of four (4) years from the time of acceptance by the City. Work on said project shall commence within ten (10) days of the written notice to proceed and shall be completed by September 30, 2025. Liquidated damages in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per day will be assessed for each day that the work remains uncompleted after the end of the contract period. The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive any and/or all technicalities and/or all irregularities.
