Renovation of a municipal facility in West Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 8,200-square-foot municipal facility.

This project consists of the removal and replacement of approximately 8,200 sf of flat roof sections at the existing City Hall Building located at 4200 Mills Civic Parkway in West Des Moines. Removal includes existing rock ballast, single-ply membrane and metal copings. The existing rigid insulation and substructure build-up will remain. Replacement roofing is to include all new coverboard, EPDM roof membrane, metal copings and trims. Select areas to receive additional roof insulation as indicated. Work to be completed while the building remains in operation. All bids shall be made on the form furnished by the City through wdm.ionwave.net and shall be filed on or before the time specified above. Each proposal shall be electronically accompanied by a scanned copy of the bid bond or a scanned copy of a cashier's or certified check drawn on an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. If a bid bond is submitted it must be on the form provided with the contract documents. A physical copy of the bid security will be required to be submitted to the City Clerk's Office by the apparent low bidder within 48 hours of the bid deadline. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract and guaranteeing payment to all persons supplying labor and/or materials in the execution of the work provided for in the contract. Additionally the contractor must provide the City with a guarantee of maintenance of said improvement in the form of surety for a period of one (1) years from the time of acceptance by the City. Work on said project shall commence within ten (10) days of the written notice to proceed and shall be completed by August 29, 2025. Liquidated damages in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per day will be assessed for each day that the work remains uncompleted after the end of the contract period.
