The Contractor shall provide all equipment, including front-end loaders or equivalent to reload sludge from storage, pads, and personnel to receive and transport sludge cake, for the term of the Contract and any extensions. Sludge cake, also referred to hereinafter as "material", shall be defined as the wastewater sludge processed by belt filter presses containing approximately seventy-five (75%) moisture produced at Omaha's Wastewater Treatment Plants. The City makes no guarantee as to the content, quality, or other characteristics of this material. Question Deadline 03/19/2025 at 2:00 PM CT Questions must be submitted via online. Each Proposal shall be accompanied by a cashier's check, a certified check, lawful money order of the United States, United States Government Bond (negotiable), or a bidder's bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total contract price offered by the Bid Proposal sheet. Bids will be compared on the basis of unit bid prices. The lowest bid will be determined on the basis of total cost. The City reserves the right to accept the lowest and best bid, to reject any or all bids; and to waive irregularities or informalities in any bid. Bids received after the specified time of closing will be returned unopened. The successful bidder shall furnish within ten (10) ten days after award, a Contract and Performance, Payment and Guarantee Bond on forms required by the City, in the amount of One-Hundred-thousand Dollars ($100,000) as security for the faithful performance of the contract and the payment of all persons performing labor of furnishing materials in connection with the contract. This security shall also cover the guarantee required by the contract through December 31, 2029, plus any contract extensions. This contract is expected to be awarded on or about March 31, 2025 and will be in effect through December 31, 2029. The City may, at its sole option, renew this contract under its existing terms for two (2) additional and separate 24 consecutive month periods. The City agrees to give the Contractor written notice of intent to renew ninety (90) days, prior to each term's expiration. Actual transportation of sludge by the Contractor is expected to take place beginning January 1, 2026.
