The goal of the North 24th Street Streetscape Improvements project aims to enhance the infrastructure of the area by addressing several key aspects: sidewalks, traffic flow, landscaping, parking, and multi-modal transit. This initiative involves repairing existing sidewalks for improved safety, installing new sidewalks where they are currently absent and widening others to better accommodate pedestrians. Additionally, traffic control measures will be implemented to reduce speeds and corner node bump-out installed at intersections which will enhance the overall safety and comfort of the street for all users. The project will be executed in two phases: the first phase (red line segment on map) will cover the segment from Sahler Street to Ohio Street, and the second phase will extend from Ohio Street to Patrick Street. As of December 8, 2025, this project is included in the City's FY 2026-2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and funding is allotted for FY 2026, FY 2027, FY 2028 and FY 2029. Estimated Completion Year: Phase 1: 2028 Phase 2: 2029 *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
