Site work and paving for a road / highway in Wilmington, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The project titled Middle Sound Loop Road and Market Street Connector Multi-Use Paths consists of approximately 0.30-miles of 8-foot-wide asphalt multi-use path on the south side of Middle Sound Loop Road (SR 1403) from the existing multi-use path adjacent to the Publix Grocery Store to the intersection of Red Cedar Road (SR 1916) and approximately 0.23-miles of new 8-foot-wide concrete multi-use path on the west side of Market Street (US 17) from the intersection at Mendenhall Drive (SR 2290) to the southernmost driveway for the Bayshore Commons shopping center This contract, BL-0040, is inclusive of both projects noted above with the Middle Sound Loop Road (SR 1403) project also listed in the 2024 - 2033 NCDOT STIP under the TIP designation EB-6027. The work shall include labor, materials, supervision, and equipment. The completion date for this contract is 270 consecutive calendar days from the issued date of written notice to proceed. The 270-day period includes 180 days for substantial completion of work associated with BL0040 and 90 days for establishment of permanent vegetation. The liquidated damages for this contract are One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) per calendar day. These liquidated damages will not be cumulative with any liquidated damages which may become chargeable under intermediate Contract Time Number 1.
