The City of Caldwell, Idaho will receive bids for 2025 Chip Seal Aggregate. This project includes the furnishing of approximately 6,400 tons of chip seal aggregate for the Caldwell Street Department to use for future chip seal operations Question Submission Deadline: March 5, 2025, 2:00pm Question Response Date: March 6, 2025 Contact Information Bruce Mills Deputy Public Works Director (Transportation) Email: bmills@cityofcaldwell.org Phone: (208) 455-4689 Action will be taken by the City within thirty (30) days of the opening date and the successful bidder will be required to enter into a written contract with the City within ten (10) days after Notice of Acceptance of his bid. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check in the amount of 5% of the total bid, which will be forfeited to the City if the bidder fails to enter into the contract. Checks of unsuccessful bidders will be returned immediately following the award of the contract or 30 days after opening, if no award is made. All contractors submitting bids are required to have a valid Idaho Public Works License and to include the number on their submitted Bid. Payment and Performance Bonds equal to the bid amount are required upon award of Contract. This work is financed entirely from City funds. Federal Davis-Bacon wage requirements do not apply. The City reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any and all bids not in the best interest of the City. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive any and all informalities not involving price, time or changes in the Work and to negotiate contract terms with the Successful Bidder, and the right to disregard all nonconforming, non-responsive, unbalanced or conditional Bids. Also, Owner reserves the right to reject the bid of any Bidder if Owner believes that it would not be in the best interest of the Project to make an award to that Bidder, whether because the Bid is not responsive or the Bidder is unqualified or of doubtful financial ability or fails to meet any other pertinent standard or criteria established by Owner. Discrepancies in the multiplication of units of Work and unit prices will be resolved in favor of the unit prices. Discrepancies between the indicated sum of any column of figures and the correct sum thereof will be resolved in favor of the correct sum. The number of days within which, or the dates by which, the Work is to be substantially completed and also completed and ready for final payment (Contract Time) are set forth in the Bid Form and the Agreement. For the purposes of the Contract Documents, the following is the Completion Date: BIDDER agrees that this project will be fully complete by or before September 15, 2025. BIDDER accepts the provisions of the Agreement as to liquidated damages in the event of failure to complete the work on time. Final Completion: Contractor shall have all aspects of the project 100% completed and approved by the City.
