Bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or bank draft in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid amount shall be submitted with the bid. Should a bid bond be submitted, the bid bond shall be payable to the Board of Trustees, Kankakee Community College. This form is intended to capture minority owned business (MBE), women owned business (WBE), and disabled owned business (PBE) or (DBE) suppliers and/or sub-contractors. The Owner has established an aspirational goal of 30% MBE / WBE / PBE / DBE participation for this project. The College reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof, or waive any irregularities or informalities, and to make the award in the best interest of the College.. No questions will be addressed after 5:00 p.m. (CST) on March 7, 2025, The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. The interior renovation of two Toilet Rooms consisting of approximately 530 SF of space within the Athletic Building. Renovation work includes: demolition, new finishes, and new doors/frames. All mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work is included in the project. WORK BY OWNER A. General: Cooperate fully with Owner so work may be carried out smoothly, without interfering with or delaying work under this Contract or work by Owner. Coordinate the Work of this Contract with work performed by Owner. B. Subsequent Work: Owner will perform the following additional work on site after Substantial Completion. Completion of that work will depend on successful completion of preparatory work under this Contract. 1. Furnishing and installation of existing and/or new Fixtures, Furnishings, and Equipment within the College Center. 1.6 ACCESS TO SITE A. General: Contractor shall have full use of Project site for construction operations during construction period. Contractor's use of Project site is limited only by Owner's right to perform work or to retain other contractors on portions of Project.
