Requests for proposals will be received by the Purchasing Agent of the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts for Professional Services and Water Treatment Chemical Supplies at Puente Hills Gas-to-energy Facility DESCRIPTION: This Request for Proposal (RFP) is seeking qualified contractors to provide professional services and water treatment chemical supplies to the Districts' power plant Puente Hills Gas-to-Energy (PERG) located in City of Industry, CA. PERG is a traditional Rankine cycle power plant consisting of two (2) landfill gas fired water tube boilers, steam turbine and generator, feedwater heaters, and cooling tower. The facility began commercial operation in 1986. PERG was designed with a rated output of 50 megawatts (MW) and currently produces approximately 20 MW of power due to diminished landfill gas production. The cooling tower make-up water consists of reclaimed water from the Districts' San Jose Creek Water Reclamation Plant. It is anticipated that PERG will shut down one of its two boilers in 2025 and run on a single boiler for the remaining life of the power plant. The initial term of this contract is for one (1) year with five (5) additional annual extensions based on mutual agreement with the awarded Proposer.
