The City of Norwich and the Norwich Community Development Corporation are requesting proposals for the abatement and demolition of the Marina Towers located at 74-78 West Main Street in Norwich Connecticut. This work is being done following an extensive community outreach effort to solicit public input and with support from the CT DECD Community Investment Fund 2030 to assist with funding for this work and future improvements. The goal for this demolition project is to remove this blighted building from the property and return the site to a safe condition while future plans for the site are developed. Responding bidders must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religious creed, age, marital status, national origin, ancestry, sex, gender identity or expression, intellectual disability, mental disability or physical disability, including, but not limited to blindness, unless it is shown by such bidder that such disability prevents performance of the work involved. Questionsregarding this bid must be submitted through the Portal, no later than March 7, 2025 at 5:00 P.M. EST. Connecticut Department of Administrative Services ("DAS") under the provisions of CONN. GEN. STAT. 4a-60g. (25% of the total state-funded value with DAS-certified Small Businesses and 6.25% of the total state-funded value with DAS-certified Minority-, Women-, and/or Disabled-owned Businesses.) The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals.
