Description

Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Sarasota, Florida. Design plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

As of February 24, 2025, an engineer has been selected and this project is in the design phase. It is anticipated bidding will commence in summer 2025, with construction starting January 2026 and ending in december 2026. This project is included in the City of Sarasota's FY 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program. Significant erosion on the southeast side of the park has been occurring for three years, with a dramatic loss of shoreline in 2020. An initial "Basis of Design Report" was provided by an Engineering/Design Service Firm. The first choice is to approach the engineering with a focus on plantings to increase resiliency instead of seawalls or other hard forms. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
