The County of Greenville takes pride in the appearance of our facilities. Greenville County is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide routine landscape maintenance at the Twin Chimneys Landfill and six (6) Residential Waste and Recycling Centers throughout the county. Weekly Services The following services should be provided on a weekly basis during the growing season (March 1 - October 31) and every other week during the dormant season (November 1 - February 28) unless otherwise directed by County. Pick up trash and debris as it occurs incidentally on the property. Mow all grassed areas as needed to not less than 4 inches. Herbicide may not be used to control grass on slopes. String trim around all obstacles and areas where lawn mower will not reach. Herbicide may not be used in lieu of trimming. Edge all concrete, curbing and sidewalks as needed. Trim all bed edges and tree rings with string trimmer as needed. Pull or spray weeds in beds and tree rings as needed. Blow hard services clean after completion of work. Seasonal Services A. Trim trees and shrubs twice each year at the end of May and end of August. Extent of trimming restricted to long shoots and as appropriate for type of plant. B. Apply fertilizer and/or weed control on all grassed areas as needed when appropriate. Generally four times per year at a rate as recommended by manufacturer (late February, late April, June, during seeding). C. Aerate and over seed all grassed areas every fall between August 15 and September 30. Seeding to be Rebel Tall Fescue applied 260 lbs per acre. D. Replace mulch as needed once a year to a minimum depth of 3 inches. Mulch to be provided by Greenville County for pickup at Twin Chimneys Landfill. Work Schedule All Centers are closed on Sundays and Mondays. Therefore, maintenance should be performed on a day other than Sunday or Monday.
