Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Hughes Mill, California. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 50-acre educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
Sierra College to purchase 50 acres of land in Placer County for a public safety training center that would serve about a dozen agencies. The college will take two years for both environmental review and to determine which 50 acres it will buy from the Western Placer Waste Management Authority. Project concept includes a building for administration, office and classroom space, locker rooms, an outdoor area for emergency vehicle driver training and a cement pad or training exercises. Other components may include a tactical village for scenario training, training towers and a shooting range for distance firearms. Per the owner, as of February 27, 2025, they have just purchased the land for this project. At this time, information regarding an architect or when an architect will be selected is not available. A timeline for design and construction has not been determined.
