Site work, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Scottsville, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; for the construction of a warehouse / distribution facility; and for site work for a warehouse / distribution facility.
The Scottsville Water Treatment Plant was originally constructed in 1967, and other then the addition of Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) treatment and interior finished water piping improvements, much of the original plant, including process and electrical equipment, remains in service. As a result, a needs assessment for the plant was completed that identified a number of additional improvements required to maintain a high level of treatment and water quality for the Scottsville community. Improvements include upgrades to the raw water pump stations, general electrical system upgrades, construction of a building addition to allow for more effective chemical storage and other general space needs, rehabilitation of the existing lab space, and other treatment process-based upgrades. As of February 25, 2025, this project is included in the county's 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
